Simple reconciliation

The bank balance and the one on your sheet do not match, and you end up hunting for the gap by eye.

It shows where the bank and your sheet differ, so you can see the missing line before you keep hunting by eye.

How to use it

  1. Press Copy, or the button for the app you use.
  2. Paste the text into the chat.
  3. Write what you need, with your own details. For example:The bank says 1,250 and my sheet says 1,180. Today there was a transfer of 70 to the hardware store. It is on the bank side and not on my sheet. Everything else matches.

Note: it does not move your money or replace the person who keeps the books.

You write

The bank says 1,250 and my sheet says 1,180. Today there was a transfer of 70 to the hardware store. It is on the bank side and not on my sheet. Everything else matches.

You get back

The gap is 70. On the bank side, missing from your sheet - Transfer of 70 to the hardware store If you add that line to the sheet, both balances land on 1,250. No money was moved. This is for you to check.

In three steps

  1. Paste the bank balance, your sheet balance, and the same day's movements.
  2. See which line is on one side and not the other.
  3. Add it to your sheet only once you recognize it.

A tip. Paste both balances and the same day's movements. A missing day will not explain the gap.
