Prep for the shift

Every shift starts by guessing what to prep and what might run out.

From the menu and the reservation count you give it, it can suggest a prep list. If the menu is a file, Hermes can use it when you point it there. If not, paste it into ChatGPT or Claude. It does not see the fridge and it does not take orders.

How to use it

  1. Press Copy, or the button for the app you use.
  2. Paste the text into the chat.
  3. Write what you need, with your own details. For example:Today there are 30 reservations and the menu is soup, chicken, and flan. Yesterday the bread ran out at 8. I want the list of what to prep.

You write

Today there are 30 reservations and the menu is soup, chicken, and flan. Yesterday the bread ran out at 8. I want the list of what to prep.

You get back

Prep for the shift - Today there are 30 reservations and the menu is soup, chicken, and flan. - Yesterday the bread ran out at 8. - I want the list of what to prep. This is what your note comes to. Change it if something is not from your day.

In three steps

  1. Tell it about "Prep for the shift" in your own words, the way you would tell a coworker.
  2. Read what comes back and change any figure or name you did not say.
  3. Leave it in the kitchen or at the register before you open.

A tip. Write amounts and names the way your place actually uses them.
