Separate the charges that repeat and mark which ones to review

This prompt helps you with this: It groups the charges that repeat and sets aside the lines that are unclear.

Works with any AI

Note: it does not replace a professional. It does not move your money or replace the person who keeps the books.

The prompt (copy it and paste it into your assistant)

Help me see which charges on this statement repeat. I review the money and you only read what I pasted. Hide account and card numbers first: I do not need them. Group lines from the same merchant, with a similar amount, that land each month or each year. In each group, mark whether I should check if I still use it. Anything unclear goes on a list called "I do not know what this is", copied as written, without guessing the merchant. Add up only the charges that counted as repeating and say which lines that total comes from. Do not cancel anything, do not contact anyone, and do not move money. This does not replace the person who keeps your books.

Statement: [paste the lines here, with account and card numbers hidden]

What it's for

It groups the charges that repeat and sets aside the lines that are unclear.

What you get A short list per group, another labeled "I do not know what this is", and the total of the repeating charges.

How to use it

  1. Copy the prompt.
  2. Paste your details into the brackets.
  3. Review the result before you use it.

Example result

January: streaming 9.99, gym 25, shop 14. February: streaming 9.99, gym 25. March: streaming 9.99, gym 26, opaque line 3.

These repeat, and you should check whether you still use them - Streaming: 9.99 in January, February, and March. - Gym: 25 in January and February, 26 in March. I do not know what this is - "opaque line", 3, March. Copied as written. I am not naming a merchant. Shows up once, so it stays out of the total - Shop, 14, January. Total of repeating charges, adding only those pasted lines: 9.99 + 9.99 + 9.99 + 25 + 25 + 26 = 105.97. I did not multiply months that were not there. I did not cancel anything and I did not write to anyone. This stays with you so you can correct it before anyone else sees it. I did not send it.

A tip Hide the account number before you paste. The total comes only from the lines you pasted.
